📸 Inserting Photographs or Images
WordPress will only insert photographs or images in a certain file format. To avoid trying to figure out compatible images, download your Snipping Tool and add it to your tool bar.
You can either “copy and paste” images into a block or save images directly from this tool; the format is compatible with WordPress.
*The Snipping Tool takes screenshots of anything on your desktop.
📨Subscribing
Parents and students can subscribe to your personal website by entering their email addresses at the bottom of any page on your website.
Keep in mind, that the website will not allow many subscribers to simultaneously join to avoid “bots” infiltrating the site. As a result, parents may have to try a few times to join your website.
🤦♀️ Control + Z
Like any desktop application, pressing the Control button and “Z” will undo the last actions (in order) you’ve completed. If you insert a block or add something and it is TERRIBLE, just hit “Control + Z” to undo it.
🗓 Events Calendar
Unless your campus administration wants your classroom calendar updated regularly, you can relay important dates any way you’d like. You do NOT have to keep your calendar aligned with the district.
Use it for assignments, holidays, classroom project dates, etc… You also have the option of not creating live events in your classroom calendar.
👩🏫 Plan, Plan, Plan
Before you begin anything, consider this:
1️⃣ How is your PLC or grade-level team using their websites?
2️⃣Can my team share any common OneDrive documents to streamline information to parents or students?
3️⃣How will I keep information current? Should I update my website directly, OneDrive documents or something else? How often?
🛠 Work Orders
For any additional instructions or one-on-one assistance with your website, please put in a technology work order. You can even gather your content or grade-level team together (after submitting individual work orders), and we’ll come to your campus and help you set up your sites in accordance with your campus expectations.
